Since its inception in 2000, the Rainforest Retreat has attracted an interesting mix of people from all walks of life – scientists, artists, farmers, students, IT drop-outs, hippies, young and old etc – all linked together by a love and respect for nature.

Together, we have grown organically into an educational platform to raise awareness about environmental issues and the urgent need for conservation of biodiversity.

We are listed in all the major guide books and have been the subject of several articles to which links have been provided below.

We have been listed with Lonely Planet since 2004 as a ‘special place to stay’, ‘editor’s pic’ and special ‘green’ rating over the years. More important to us is the encouragement and repeat visits we have received from our many guests.

We stayed 2 days here. It’s like a piece of heaven, away from the humdrums of daily monotonous life. We felt good.

Our favourite place in India so far, the Rainforest Retreat has been an unbeatable combination of exotic wildlife, friendly staff and atmosphere, and a quiet relaxation in our hammocks. Looking forwards to visiting you guys again!

What a wonderful, calming and relaxing time we had here! Thank you for making our stay perfect – for showing us the plantation, the forest, the surroundings; for catering to our needs by cooking wonderful food, building fires, singing, generally: being such friendly people and being so in accord with nature and with yourselves. We are taking a lot with us – knowledge, insight and memories.

It’s exactly what I wanted. I loved the plantation tour. You got me more interested in following the organic way of life. Thank you.

Lovely place, great staff. A wonderful experience. We enjoyed the plantation walk, it was enriching, we hope we can pass on a little bit of this knowledge to others. Appreciate what you are doing.

Thank you for a wonderful stay amid the rainforest with all the beauty and beautiful people. I loved to stroke the frog! Keep the good humor going on. And we wish you that your so important work of organic farming and keeping biodiversity alive will find many others who want to do as you do. All the best and all of our best wishes to you!

The reason that we have decided to stay a bit longer (and would stay even longer if we could) is not because this feels like a holiday but it feels most like how I would wait to live my life in an ideal world. What an incredible place you have created.

Rainforest Retreat is my favorite part of my travels when I come to Mysore. It is a perfect respite and break from the city. We leave refreshed and renewed after immersing ourselves in the beauty of this place.

A very pleasant stay for 6 days in the middle of nature. That brought us into a new world. The stay in the cottage was a beautiful experience for both of us. We must mention about the tasty food that was served to us during these days. In short a memorable stay for both of us with lot of pleasant memories that we are carrying now.
