The Rainforest Retreat offers a venue for study programmes, workshops, conferences, and residencies with varied subjects and themes.
Our rich biodiversity, excellent trekking and birding opportunities, and salubrious environment filled with clear streams and forest sounds makes it the ideal place for these activities.
Facilitators who are interested in hosting a workshop on any subject (for example: writing, art, yoga, mediation, film, photography, biology, ecology, or anything else, academic or practical) can reach out to us and use the place as a venue. We will provide accommodation, food, and logistical support. We also collaborate with experts to host our own workshops in Writing, Tree Identification and other topics which will be advertised periodically on our pages.
We have been running educational programmes for the past 25 years for schools, universities, and independent groups. The itinerary is tailored to each programme’s needs and objectives.
Organisations and companies have used this space to host internal meetings, retreats and team-building activities.
Two of our cottages are available as independent units with attached kitchens for long-term stays on a weekly or monthly basis. These are often used by writers, researchers, or anyone who wants a quiet place to work, watch birds, or soak up the forest atmosphere.
Alongside ongoing studies in ecology and other areas, we would like to use this space as a platform to facilitate conversations between people from different disciplinary backgrounds. This includes inviting scholars from the social sciences, environmental humanities and conservation biology to discuss various approaches and methods while being immersed in a special ecosystem that influences the conversation. Anyone interested in engaging with this should get in touch with us. We are open to collaboration in other areas too.
