Retreat at Mojo Plantation is a unique
project that combines eco-tourism with sustainable
agriculture and environmental education. Our
internationally renowned eco-lodge is situated on a
certified Organic farm in the tropical montane rainforests of
the Western Ghats of Kodagu (Coorg) district in southern Karnataka.
We welcome environmentally conscious travelers who want to experience a harmonious existence with nature. Surrounded by rolling hills and densely forested valleys, this area is a paradise for nature lovers. Experience the amazing biodiversity of the Western Ghats as you explore remote idyllic valleys and tropical forests or learn how coffee, cardamom, pepper, vanilla are sustainably cultivated under the shade of rainforest trees. This region offers some of the finest trekking and birding in Southern India.
Proceeds support WAPRED, an environmental NGO dedicated to nature by promoting organic farming and biodiversity conservation.
The Covid situation seems to have improved here, but we must all be vigilant and take precautions. Our cottages are isolated from the outside world—and from each other—so it is easy to maintain social distancing. We have resumed our communal dining, bonfires and activities such as guided treks and plantation tour, but are still taking maximum precautions for everyone’s safety and request you do the same.

Since its inception in 2000, the Rainforest Retreat has attracted an interesting mix of visitors from all walks of life – scientists, artists, farmers, students, drop-outs, hippies, young and old etc — all linked together by a love and respect for nature.
Together, we have grown organically into an educational platform to raise awareness about environmental issues and the urgent need for conservation of biodiversity.
