How do I make a booking?

How many adults/children can stay in one room?

We have different sized rooms. The rooms in the Deluxe Cottage have a double bed and a single bed/bunk beds. These are large rooms and can easily accommodate extra adults and children depending on the family size. The rooms in the Plantation Cottage and Adobe Huts can also accommodate 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children comfortably.
Charges for an extra adult: ₹1250/person and Children aged between 5-10 years: ₹500/ Child

Do I need to confirm my booking?

Yes, we encourage a minimum 50% advance payment.

How do I get a receipt for my hotel booking?

A hard copy of your receipt will be given to you before checkout.

What are the charges inclusive of?

The stay charges are inclusive of a buffet breakfast and guided local walks and treks.
Lunch/Dinner are also served buffet style and charged at ₹475/person per meal and ₹275/child/meal.
There is an overall 10% service charge.

What is the check–in/check-out time?

Check-in is at noon and Check-out is post breakfast at 10 am. Early check in (before 10 am) or late check-outs (2-6 pm) attracts an extra half day charge. Guests checking out after 6 pm will be charged for that day.

Do I have to show ID proof at the time of check–in?

Persons holding foreign passports are requested to bring along a copy of the first page of their passport and Indian visa. This is mandatory for foreign visitors as stated by the Tourism department. Photocopying on site attracts a fee of ₹25/passport. Indian citizens are requested to carry a photocopy of any one of the following documents: Drivers Licence/ Passport/ Aadhaar card.

How do I cancel my booking? What are the cancellation charges?

Cancellation of Bookings made more than 2 weeks in advance of Booking date may be done with no deductions other than bank-related charges. Cancellations done within 2-14 days of the booking date are entitled to a 50% refund. Cancellations within 48 hours of booking will not allow us to refund any amount.

Is Internet, Phone network, Room Service available?

All cottages are powered by eco-friendly 12V solar lighting - there is no 220V current, television or telephones in the rooms. Facility for phone charging, phone network and Wi-Fi is available in the central Recreational and Dining area. There is NO room service. Meals are served at the dining area.

Do you have a facility for Drivers?

We do NOT have stay facilities for the drivers. They usually opt to stay at Madikeri (20 minutes’ drive/10 km ) which provides many economical stay options.

What are the charges for the Treks?

Half-day Guided treks/Nature walks or Plantation Tour, which are typically done between 9:30am – 1 pm are included in the accommodation price. A full-day trek to Nishanimol (17 km) conducted between 10 am to 5 pm is charged at ₹ 1500 per person, including a packed lunch. These treks have to be booked in advance.

Are pets allowed to stay at the homestay?

Pets are not allowed at the Homestay.

What about mosquitoes and other insects?

We do not have a mosquito problem here and the cottages have screens on the windows. Because of our environment, there may occasionally be other insects or spiders which our staff will remove and we also provide mosquito nets for added protection for those who are not used to living with small biodiversity.

What should a guest bring along?

We encourage you to bring a good flashlight, refillable water bottles (we provide excellent drinking water), comfortable walking shoes, a warm jacket, hats, cameras and binoculars. Certified Organic Coffee and Spices grown and processed at the Plantation are available for sale, as are books related to environment and farming.
